What is the Silver Cup Plan?

You’ve searched and searched the internet but came up disappointed. Every photographer wants to put your baby in a bucket, complete with loud colors, and maybe even dress him like a turtle. Cringe.

We got you. We know you. Here, you’ll find all the classics. Soft colors, silver rattles, classic baby clothing, beautiful gowns for mom. See, after being in business for 28 years, this is what we know. Classic never goes out of style.

Despite the extra pump of caffeine in your coffee, you know remembering all those sweet details of your baby you so desperately don’t want to forget are about to get real fuzzy real fast with that sleep deprived brain of yours. And despite you not wanting to give into the cliches, this babyhood deal is moving by entirely too fast (even if you could use 8 thousand more hours of sleep…amen?? AMEN.).

You want to remember what he smelled like, how she felt in your arms, how he stretched his arms up every time he yawned big, and how that ceiling fan truly was their bestest friend.

Plan Details

With the Silver Cup Baby Plan, we photograph baby strategically capturing the big milestones and developments 3 times throughout the first year. Those three sessions are usually your Newborn, Sitting up (6/7 months-ish), and one year.

QUESTIONS

How far in advance should I book?

The sooner, the better! The sooner you reach out to us, the more likely we will have a membership available. We take a limited amount of new clients and Silver Cup Baby’s each month. If you are planning a session during our peak months between September-November contact us 4 to 6 months in advance.

Is Artwork or digital files included in my Silver Cup Baby Plan Membership?

We believe you should see your images before purchasing any artwork or digital files. After each session, you return to the studio for your design and ordering appointment where you choose what you need. Whether you decide to purchase a little or a lot at your in-person ordering appointment, it’s all up to you…just as much as you love! We can’t promise that you won’t cry happy tears when you see your images for the first time (we know we’re terrible…but it’s really that sweet life you’re building that brings those tears. Ohhhhk, and maybe there’s some sappy good music in there too. Whoopsies!)

Can family or siblings be added to any of the sessions?

Yes, family and siblings are absolutely encouraged to attend the newborn session, as well as the one year session. It’s always better when those you love are with you!

What should we wear?

Clothing should be kept simple. Neutrals are best in studio. White, cream, linen, lace, khaki, and for pops of color soft blue, sage, or blush pink hues. Floor length dresses for moms are encouraged because they are often flattering on all body types and postpartum. Send us a quick message if you would like some links to our favorites or to see some of dresses we keep stocked in studio for our moms.

You’re going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and we coach you through images, we think you’ll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don’t worry about your kids. We’re well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.

What should we bring to our sessions?

We love incorporating your heirloom items. Baby’s silver rattle, bonnets, baby’s favorite lovie, monogrammed diaper covers, any special or pretty baby blankets, coming home outfit, baby jewelry. Of course, we stock most of these items in the studio, but we love incorporating your own things, as well! We are good traditional southern girls at heart…bring us the suitcase of stuff!

I have an older child, and I’m worried they won’t behave for the session.

We got the tricks. We got the candy (mom approved, of course). After 25 years of Shuman Fine Art Photography, there’s no grim faced challenger we haven’t won over.

What if I missed the “newborn” stage? Can I still join the Silver Cup Baby Plan?

No baby is ever too “old” to photograph. We can adjust and suggest a different timeline of the Silver Cup exactly to your needs and milestones.
